“Lacrosse is a simple sport, if you’re making it difficult your doing something wrong”
-Coach John Danowski: Head Coach for Duke University and Team USA
Practice, train, and compete year round on a roster comprised of the top players from Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. Mad Dog West is committed to providing the ultimate elite club experience. Our staff prides itself in providing a professionally run practice environment, developing our players to succeed at the highest level. All practices are advanced, fast tempo, organized and professionally ran. Players will develop in an aggressively competitive practice environment and be exposed to top competition and competitive tournaments to allow them to reach their full potential.
We will put all of our players in the best position to develop as young men on and off the field, while giving them the best opportunities to showcase their skills in front of the top collegiate coaches at summer tournaments, showcases, and recruiting events. Our coaching staff has played and coached at the highest levels of the game. With our strong connections with college coaches we will be your best and most honest advocate in the recruiting process. Where you play in college comes down to your work ethic, grades, and how you perform in front of college recruiters.
For a young player, being able to watch yourself make the correct play or incorrect play on film is extremely beneficial. Team Film will be broken down on our team Krossover account for all players. We will also have team film after weekend training sessions at our San Diego Facilities.
Each Player will receive a small binder with team goals, motivational articles, offensive/defensive sets & terms, clearing formations, man up offense, man down defenses, etc. Throughout the program, coaches may give out new handouts on a new defensive or offensive set or play or a motivational article to read. We are asking for our players to bring this binder with them to all team events unless told otherwise.
In the summer 2017 we will be traveling as a team back east and attending high level recruiting tournaments and showcases.
Our Mad Dog coaching staff will use their vast network of college program connections to offer:
Our MDW staff’s college programs: Duke-Johns Hopkins-Albany-UNC-Towson-Delaware-Endicott. Professional Teams, MLL: Charlotte Hounds, Chesapeake Bayhawks, Boston Cannons, Denver Outlaws. NLL: Philadelphia Wings And more…
Certain days our practice plans will involve position specific training. This will be a great way for us to focus on the skills & knowledge needed at each position.
